‚Every Can Counts‘ - promoting beverage can recycling across Europe
(August 8, 2017) The European ‘Every Can Counts’ program aims to encourage people to recycle used beverage cans also when people are on the move.
The eye-catching brand is proving popular with consumers, employers, event organizers and brands across Europe. Developed and funded by beverage can manufacturers and aluminium companies, there are several ‘Every Can Counts’ programs operating.
Launched in 2009, the original focus was on cans used in workplaces - offices, canteens and universities - providing practical support and advice to enable employers to start or revitalize a recycling scheme. In 2010, Every Can Counts expanded its focus to drinks cans used by people on the move, in particular at music festivals and tourist places. Developed in the United Kingdom the model was replicated as well in France (Chaque Canette Compte) and Austria (jede dose zaehlt).
'Every Can Counts' has successfully established itself as the umbrella brand for promoting beverage can recycling outside of home with programs, now also running in Hungary, Romania, Ireland, Scotland, Montenegro, Greece, Spain and more recently introduced in Serbia, Belgium and Poland. Actual 12 European contries take active part in 'Every Can Counts'.
