DAVR was founded by aluminium producing and processing companies in 1991. It advocates the interests of the aluminium industry concerning aluminium recycling to politics, the recycling industry, the dual/deposit systems and partners on the market.
DAVR's work involves the following activities:
- Contribute to optimizing recycling methods
- Provide information on recycling and fulfilling the requirements according to the packaging ordinance
- Recycling of used aluminium packaging from sorting and collection facilities
- Participation in legislative projects
DAVR also is a member of an European network for optimizing the return of aluminium packaging to the materials cycle. Under the umbrella of EA, the European Aluminium (www.european-aluminium.eu), this network supports the exchange of knowledge and experience as well as enhacing national recycling structures and results the materials-specific interests at European level.
